The defendant was charged with taking conveyance without authority contrary to section 14(1) of the Theft Ordinance, Cap. 210, using a vehicle without third party insurance contrary to sections 4(1) and 4(2)(a) of the Motor Vehicle Insurance (Third Party Risks) Ordinance, Cap. 272, and driving an unlicensed vehicle contrary to sections 52(1)(a) and 52(10)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Cap. 374. Counsel Mr. William Allan as instructed by Mr. Chaudhry Muhammad Kamran of Chaudhry Solicitors represented the defendant. The court ruled no case to answer on the first charge, while the remaining charges were withdrawn. Costs to the defendant were awarded.
