The appellant, sole proprietor of “Wild Hong Kong,” was charged with carrying on business as a travel agent without a licence and publishing advertisements referring to travel services without authorization, contrary to the Travel Agents Ordinance, Cap 218. Counsel Mr. John Reading SC, leading Mr. Thomas Martin Cliiford, as instructed by Mr. Chaudhry Muhammad Kamran of Chaudhry Solicitors, represented the appellant. The appeal was allowed, and both convictions and fines were quashed.
